Harford Mutual Insurance Group’s Internship Program has been named on the Rising Insurance Star Executives (RISE) 2022 Elite 50 Internships list, an annual program recognizing the top 50 internship programs in the insurance industry across the U.S.
Elite 50 Internship submissions are anonymous and judged in ten categories, including full-time employment opportunity, meaningful work assignments, diversity & inclusion and culture, training and mentoring, and program structure. This is the third year in a row that Harford Mutual has been named to the list.
“In looking at our industry, it is vital to have an intern program in place. It provides a potential talent pipeline for a recruiting perspective while providing valuable insight to the students so they can apply real-life situations to what they are learning in the classroom,” said Patrick Gagen, AVP of Human Resources.
Harford Mutual’s internship program was launched in 2013. Over the years, nearly 50 young professionals have interned in multiple departments at Harford Mutual, including Information Technology, Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Accounting, and Marketing. Harford Mutual’s Internship Program runs each year from June through early August. During the eight-week program, interns work with employees and managers within their departments assigned and have the opportunity for direct interaction with senior leadership. A total of 15 interns have become full-time employees.
