Harford Mutual Insurance Group Vice President Retires After More Than 35 Years of Service

Frank P. Kellner III retires from HMIG after 35+ years of service

After more than 35 years of dedicated service, Frank P. Kellner III retired from Harford Mutual Insurance Group (HMIG) on April 1, 2026.

Kellner joined Harford Mutual in 1990 and has held several leadership roles throughout his tenure, including Vice President of Claims, Vice President of Claims & Corporate Secretary, and, most recently, Vice President of Administrative Operations. In this role, he oversaw the company’s expanding offices and real estate operations across Maryland, Kentucky, and South Carolina.

During his career, Kellner launched both HMIG’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and Customer Service Representative team — foundational departments that supported the organization’s growth and remain integral to its operations today. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he also leaves a lasting legacy as a respected mentor and leader who hired and guided countless team members throughout his career.

“During the past two decades and throughout his remarkable 35+ year career, Frank’s steadfast dedication to HMIG, its mission, purpose, culture, employees, and the greater community has been a constant positive influence, cementing his tenure and contributions with our organization’s storied legacy,” said HMIG President & CEO Steven D. Linkous.

Kellner’s dedication also extends into the community. He has volunteered with organizations including Harford Family House, the Harford County Government Local Management Board, the University of Baltimore Risk Management and Insurance Advisory Board, and the United Way of Central Maryland Tocqueville Society Executive Council.

“I am truly grateful for the lasting memories and experiences that have shaped my career. HMIG has been far more than just a workplace — it has been a community where friendships flourished, support was always within reach, and teamwork made every challenge achievable,” said Kellner.
